FAQ

On this page there are the answers to frequently asked questions sent by e-mail.

1. I don't understand. The Delphi already has a syntax highlighter of code, you just need to configure it for your needs.

Well, try to set the color to highlight the variables, functions, procedures, code blocks, etc. You can not do this, because the Delphi's code editor knows nothing about variables, procedures, functions, etc. Brilliant Code finds constants, types, variables, functions, procedures, etc and highlights it.

2. I use CnPack and this plugin highlight the code already. Why do i need your program?

The Brilliant Code is very conservative plugin and i add a new feature if it is really need, so the plugin has a small functionality (you can write to e-mail your offers for Brilliant Code and possibly your offers wll be added to plugin). But the MAIN function of the Brilliant Code is highlighting of the code and the plugin do it very fast without delays. It paints the vars, consts, types and methods. CNPack don't have this functional and it don't highlight a var or a const or a method or a type. Also you can use Brilliant Code with CnPack.

3. In older version of Delphi the Brilliant Code highlights the block begin..end, other blocks and brackets. Why does not have this feature in the new version?

It's simply. In the new version of Delphi some ToolsApi functions is very slow, so this functional was deleted. I hope this is temporary, because i also lack this feature ;-)

4. I need Brilliant Code for the old versions of Delphi (from 7 to Seattle). Where can i download it?

All these versions are not longer supported and are not updated. And you can't download it now.

5. I need Brilliant Code for the old versions of Delphi (from Berlin and above)

Now Brilliant Code is supported only for one version of Delphi and all these versions are not longer supported and are not updated too. You can download it from here. But if you need it you can buy Brilliant Code for current version of Delphi and your licence key will work in the older version.

6. Will the licence key for Brilliant Code for current version of Delphi work in older version of Delphi starting with Delphi Berlin?

Yes. For example, if you buy Brilliant Code for Delphi Tokyo, your licence key will work in Delphi Tokyo and Delphi Berlin.

7. How can I customize my syntax highlighter for Delphi from scratch?

For customize your syntax highlighter you must:

      1. Install Brilliant Code
      2. Goto Tools\Options\Editor options\Source options and set Syntax highlighter = Delphi
      3. Goto Tools\Options\Editor options\Color and customize colors how do you like
      4. Goto Tools\Options\Editor options\Source options and set Syntax highlighter = BrilliantCode
